Call for poster abstracts - Deadline extended until Thursday 1 September 2016

The International Biotechnology Symposium 2016 (IBS 2016) scientific program committee are still accepting abstract submissions for posters to be displayed at the International BioFest 2016. The abstract submission portal will remain open and will accept poster abstracts until Thursday 1 September 2016. Anyone wishing to participate must also be planning to register for The International BioFest 2016. 

Abstract submissions for oral presentations have now been closed.

Abstract submission

Abstracts must be submitted through the online portal which can be accessed by clicking here.  Abstracts are to be no more than one A4 page in length and must meet the eligibility requirements as outlined in the submission guidelines.

The poster display will be placed in the conference venue during the International BioFest 2016. Further details including instructions and format, will be provided in the acceptance letter. 

Registration

Anyone submitting a poster abstract must also be intending to register for the International BioFest 2016. Authors whose abstracts have been accepted are responsible for all costs including registration, travel, accommodation, any costs associated with preparation of the poster, or any other costs associated with attendance at the event. Once notified if your abstract is successful, you will have two weeks to complete the International BioFest 2016 registration.

Poster Abstract submission timeline

  • Thursday 1 September 2016: Submit abstract through the abstract submission portal before Thursday 1 September 2016 at 5.00pm (EST);
  • Friday 2 September 2016: Abstracts reviewed by the Scientific Program Committee;
  • Week commencing 12 September 2016: Authors notified of the results and if they have been chosen to display a poster at The International BioFest 2016;
  • Friday 30 September 2016: Accepted authors must have registered to attend the International BioFest 2016. If registration is not received before this date, it will be assumed the author has withdrawn their abstract;
  • Monday 24 – Wednesday 26 October 2016: Successful abstract submissions to display their poster during the conference.

Themes

During the abstract submission process, you will be asked to select one of the following themes for which your abstract will be considered:

  • Agri Business - Animal, food and aqua culture;
  • Industrial and environmental biotechnology;
  • Pharmaceutical, medical and molecular;
  • Bioenergy and biorefinery;
  • Bioeconomy, biopolicy and investment;
  • Biosensors and nanobiotechnology.
